All clues make sense (Part 2)

The Cloak that Ico uses

One of the evidences that can make the Secret Ending of Shadow of the Colossus be real are the cloak (in the form of apron) that Ico, Emon and Wander use. We can see in the images above that Ico's cloak has the same colors as the Emon cloak, that is, the letter-shaped symbols "m" and "Y" respectively were painted in gray and pink, while the cloak which Wander uses, were painted light blue. This may mean that Ico is descended from Emon and not from Wander.

The 8 colossus hidden in the 8 stone blocks

Another evidence that can prove the existence of a new modality where 8 more colossi are faced is that in addition to the 8 blocks of stone represent places seen from the sky and points of intersection, they can also represent images of the 8 additional colossus. Watch:

We know that the game disc contains more files that do not match the normal actions we take in the game. For this reason, hackers call these files "leftovers" from the project. However, in "New Theory" these files may correspond to the "Ultra Secret" content of the game, that is, the Secret Ending next to Very Hard mode. Fumito Ueda along with his team Team Ico may have included something more in the initial design of the game called Nico and may have decided to implement in the Final Version, in which this additional content could not be accessed by hackers players and hackers softwares, such as Dormin Editor for PAL-M version created by Xplorer (Matheus Eduardo) and Dormin Viewer created by Youmoosotc, since the resources of these two programs can be limited if a game action is not completed at a certain moment, that is, if the supposed scene of the bird taking Wander to the dam in the Eastern Region is not released, the program may not read the files corresponding to the supposed "Ultra Secret" content.

Let's look at some files that may correspond to the "Ultra Secret" content:

- Analysis 1: Files corresponding to the supposed 17th colossus

sound/se/boss17.hd
sound/test_adpcm/boss17_dead.sts
sound/test_adpcm/boss17_dead.int
sound/test_adpcm/boss17_boot.sts
sound/test_adpcm/boss17_boot.int

O jogador Nomad Colossus havia encontrado no disco, os arquivos acima e dito o seguinte:

"- You can't use these files they are just a fragment of code left over from earlier development. But boss17 could be referring to Dormin, only Dormin doesn't die in the game so the 'boss17_dead' makes no sense."

According to my guess for the New Theory, these files may even correspond to Dormin, as Nomad had said, but may be of Dormin in Emon's body. All the words in the files are written in English, that is, if we analyze the first file "sound/se/boss17.hd", we can see that the letters se (highlighted among sound e boss17.hd), can match the initials of words: "secret ending". Already the words "dead" and "boot" of other files, are associated with the colossus Dormin: "dead" is connected to Dormin by being a dead entity as Nomad Colossus had said, and in addition, the word "boot" can be related to the knee that the colossus Dormin gives to the ground, because in the Common Ending, there is a command that when pressing the button X, the beast carries the leg and tries to hit a knee in Emon next to its guards.

- Analysis 2: Archive of "Rainbows"

rainbow_flare.nto

The file "rainbow_flare.nto" may correspond to something like "rainbow of flames" in which it would take us to the supposed scene in which the bird takes the Wander from the huge crater and leads to the Dam of the Eastern Region of the inaccessible areas of the map , since both the crater and the dam have two structures in the form of a rainbow and both would have relation with the flame, in which, they would be "two rainbows of flame". Watch:

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Spider (Aberth), we can observe in both images, the body of the colossus next to its paws and more the enormous bridge on the side of the colossus.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Javali (Sirius), we can observe in both the images, the mouth and the eyes, besides the mask in the face of the colossus.

When comparing the block of stone with the Phoenix colossus (Adar Flam), we can see in both the images, the neck and the wings of the colossus, besides the clouds in the sky.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Roc (Avus or Black Bird), we can observe in both images, the scaly body and the hairs of the wings of the colossus.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Worm (Dionin), we can see in both images, the small hole in the face of the colossus, besides the contour in its cauliflower-like face.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Devil (Pholux), we can observe his face similar to the face in the block.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Monkey, we can observe in both images, the crown and the understood arms if hanging on something.

When comparing the block of stone with the colossus Griffin (Kyos), we can observe that the head along with the lower part of his body resembles that of the block. In addition, the small wings on your back may resemble the two dark parts drawn on the top of the block.

Dormin may have been divided into 24 parts

It is difficult to understand the real existence of Dormin, that is, we can not affirm what he is, how he came to exist, etc. All we can do is theorize. We note that their existence simultaneously possesses two sexes, for during the game we hear male and female voices being echoed through the ceiling hole in the Sanctuary of Worship. However, at the end of the game, when Dormin materializes in Wander's body and tells Emon that he has been divided into 16 parts, we only hear "male voices" being spoken by the beast. That is, we do not hear Dormin speak to "female voices" at any time when she is in the form of a beast. We could theorize the following hypothesis: Only the essence of Dormin of his male part may have been divided into 16 parts and imprisoned in 16 colossi each part, in which each of these colossi has an idol in the form of a monument, while the essence of Dormin of his female part may have been divided into 8 parts and imprisoned in 8 colossi supposedly hidden in the game, each part. Each occult colossus may have an idol in the form of a lithographed engraving on each block of stone (as it was compared in the text above), and the set of structures that support the enormous bridge may represent a 17th idol corresponding to the eight extra colossi, if the 8 hidden colossi are defeated, the huge bridge can self-destruct, because when the supports collapse, a strange light of blue color is expelled outwards, similar to the strange light that destroys the monuments of the 16 giants of the game (by way of the Common Ending).

Why did the huge bridge self-destruct in the Common Ending if in the history of the game we did not even face the 8 hidden colossi?
The only explanation we would have in this particular case is that the male part of Dormin would have a life relation with his female part, for Dormin can coexist, that is, one exists for the other. That is, if the male part of Dormin ceases to exist altogether, the female part also ceases to exist, or vice versa. In the Common Ending, when Emon opens a portal of light, the remains of sacred magic completely purified the male part of Dormin materialized in Wander, in which, Wander spiritually regressed to a baby starting his age from scratch. That is, there is no existing vestige of the male part of Dormin. With this result, the female part of Dormin ceased to exist, automatically causing the death of the 8 hidden colossi, in which their magical sigils were automatically broken in their bodies, releasing the black tentacles that hovered around these colossi. However, the supports of the huge bridge collapsed with the death of these colossi, while Emon and his guards tried to escape the place. That is, the 8 hidden colossi also has a life relation with the female part of Dormin. Already in the supposed Secret Ending, the only vestige that we would have for the masculine part of Dormin still to exist, is the broken horn during the quint of the materialized beast in Emon in the floor above, because this vestige would be a hint of the broken horn in the statue to the right on the bridge of Ico game, near the first point of save in the form of couch.

The colossus Roc "legendary Black Bird" appears in the Beta trailer

The rainbow of the image above to the left that corresponds to the entrance of the Arena of the 11th colossus has a square countenance on its floor that corresponds to the symbol referring to the flame, since the triangles in the margin of the square, are the same that appear in the mandala above the wall-door and the rectangle on the wall-door in the Temple of Fire. The rainbow of the image above to the right is formed by orange colored stones and because the flame has an orange hue, we could say that this structure is also a rainbow of flames.

The 25 Save Points corresponding to the 25 colossus of the game

The game has 24 save points in the form of miniatures from the Shrine of Worship scattered throughout the game, plus the point of saving in the Shrine of Worship itself located at the exit, together the three stairs. In relation to New Theory, each save point would correspond to the 25 colossus faced in the game. The save point of the Shrine of Worship would correspond to the own Dormin that is faced in the supposed Secret Ending, while the 24 miniatures of the sanctuary scattered across the Forbidden Land would correspond to the 16 colossi we faced in Normal and Hard modes and the 8 hidden colossus that would be faced in the supposed Very Hard mode.

Questions about the history of the Ico game

When we play Ico for the first time all we see during the side story are the following events:

- Three warriors, two of whom have horns, take the protagonist Ico to the Castle of the Mist, the home of the Queen, and apriosion the Ico in a kind of sarcophagus, because Ico represents a "bad omen" for the village of these warriors.
- When Ico and Yorda try to escape from the castle, the Queen, Yorda's mother, comes and tells Ico that her daughter can not live with the humans outside.
- At the end of the game, the Queen reveals to Ico that his plan is to achieve eternal life by draining the spiritual energy of the horned boys through the sarcophagi in the huge hall of the castle.

The plot of the Ico game has very little information, opening a wide range of interpretations, and after playing numerous times both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, we stop to ask:

- Why is the Ico character considered a "bad omen" for his village?
- Why can not Yorda live with humans in the outside world?
- Why does the Queen want to obtain eternal life?

It is at this point that the players would have to find some answers to each of the questions asked, as this would be a way to understand a little more about the idea to be transmitted by the works of Fumito Ueda. So here we go:

Why is Ico character considered a "bad omen" for his village?

The first impression is that Ico could be considered a bad omen for the sake of having horns, that is, of being part of the cursed tribe of the horned race, but if we analyze deeply, two of the three warriors that take Ico to the castle, also have horns only turned backwards, and if Ico were a bad omen because of the pair of horns, then these two warriors should also be regarded as bad omens and should have been taken to the Queen as children. Then we could open another hypothesis related to the first descendant of the horned breed. Through the symbol drawn in the cloak that Ico uses, the first descendant was a shaman, and perhaps the motive that explains Ico to be a bad omen is precisely because he is a shaman.

There is evidence in the game Ico that can prove that Ico is a shaman. Evidence is a premonition, that is, a vision of a future event. At the beginning of the game, when Ico is unconscious when falling from the sarcophagus, he has a vision that shows a flashback of a scene in which a mysterious shadow seizes of Yorda inside the cage, in which, this event becomes reality at the end of the game when the Queen passes the power of the shadows inheriting to the Yorda as a final resource.

In addition to the evidence of this vision of Ico, in Shadow of the Colossus we have two evidences of each vision involving Emon and Wander. In the case of Emon, his visions appear in the opening of the game that talks about the mysterious origin of the Forbidden Land, whereas Wander has a vision after to have defeated the 8th colossus that shows a flashback of a scene of the awakening Mono. In addition, Wander has the power of self healing, which is one of a shaman's abilities, as the Wander energy bar, marked red in the game, automatically recharges when he loses damage.

Why can not Yorda live with humans in the outside world?
In the Ico game, during the scene of the Queen's appearance as Ico and Yorda attempt to escape the castle through the main gate, in addition to the final confrontation with the Queen, the Queen tells Ico that the Yorda can not live with humans outside the Castle. In her speech, the Queen does not explain why Yorda lives outside, which gives us a loophole to try to find innumerable hypotheses to find the answer to this question. Perhaps a likely hypothesis is because the Yorda holds within itself a mysterious sacred power in which this power is the key to opening doors during play through an electric current, in addition to eliminating creatures from shadows who are servants of the Queen. This would perhaps be the only more plausible explanation, for this same power also drains the vital energy of the horned boys locked in sarcophagi and transferred to the Queen to increase their life span. Perhaps humans, especially the most ambitious shamans, those who escape their obligations to maintain peace on Earth, would be interested in the power that the Yorda holds within them to use them at their pleasure, bringing benefits to themselves, while at the same time bringing evil to mankind.

Furthermore, the game Ico does not at any time explain how the Yorda obtained this mysterious power of light, in which this mystery would be open to interpretation. The only idea that comes to mind is some fact in Shadow of the Colossus that perhaps would be related to this luminous power, and the only fact is the portal of open light in the source of water at the end of the game that could have that relation.

Why does the Queen desire eternal life?
This is one of the questions that very few players have asked themselves. We could imagine that the Queen wants to live forever to enjoy life better or else to dominate the world by enslaving humanity. But there must still be some other reason we can not imagine. One of the theories that circulates on the Internet about the Queen is that the Mono character of Shadow of the Colossus became the Queen of the game Ico in a mysterious way, by the similarity in that there is in its physiognomies and perhaps that is the reason of Mono to have been sacrificed and that is his cursed destiny said in a speech of Wander. Perhaps the only motive that could explain her desire to live forever is the response of her own speech in which the Queen tells Ico that the Yorda can not leave the castle, that is, the Queen's purpose to prolong her life forever, perhaps either to protect the mysterious power of light that the Yorda keeps inside so that it does not fall into the wrong hands, besides the Queen possessing a feeling of mother love with her daughter. However, what we might imagine the Queen would pass on as a villain of the game, deep within our interpretation of the questioning of the game script, can give us an image of the Queen acting for the good of humanity and her own daughter.

In his Youtube channel, Tchollo Ventura has placed a video that is an old trailer of the beta version of Shadow of the Colossus, with rare images of the Japanese website kikizo.com. Among these rare images, there is a scene in which appears the colossus Roc, known by Brazilian players as the legendary Black Bird. Many players believe that this colossus is a beta version of the 5th colossus dubbed by Avion fans. However, if the colossus Roc (Avus) is a beta version of the Avion, why does Wander confront the extra colossus of the trailer mounted on Agro, and being on solid ground, if the Avion is confronted in a lake and without the presence of Agro?

More information about the mysterious colossus Roc, see the video published by Tchollo Ventura, from 1:55 where the creature appears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRMi3GwuwVc
